Although I don't think the OP's story is true, I know that our little ones need to be protected from all kinds of preditors. We use a doggie door for convience, but it leads directly to a covered enclosure (sort of like a huge chain link box). This works great for us, it allows my gang to go out whenever they need to, and I know they are safe.
