First heat and vomiting...Please help I have already placed a thread about our 8 month old female (Maya) who is experiencing her first heat. She seemed to have started bleeding Thursday and she vomited foamy yellow bile. Friday she was moody and tired, didn't have much to eat and then vomited some of her food. Saturday I made her rice and added an egg, she seem to do fine until she had some dog biscuits and then shortly after vomited the biscuits. She also had some plain homemade chicken broth which seem to do her some good.
This morning I thought we had turned a corner, she seems to have energy but she wasn't very hungry. I gave her some yogurt she ate a little, I gave her some more chicken broth, she had a little, I tried to give her some rice, not go.....before leaving the house I left her 2 biscuits along with her food, we came home and she had eaten the biscuits and vomited them.
I have just made her some chicken poached in chicken broth and she eat it with hunger, I didn't give her alot for fear of her being sick again.
After all this long explanation, I guess what I am wondering is, is this normal for the first heat What can I feed her that would be gentle on her stomach and should I give her something for the bile that must be occuring in her stomach.
Please, any information and sharing of experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, I forgot, late this morning she vomited (yellowish brown), even though she had not really eaten much, and had a very very soft bowel movement.....I also noticed that she had a rather large bowel movement Saturday morning but didn't have her evening bowel movement. She usually has 2 to 3 movements a day but the last 2 days she has had 2 abnormal movements.
I will call the vet tomorrow but I am hoping to obtain some feedback in the mean while. |
