At 10 weeks, he is still young and could be scared. Are you keeping up with crate training while you are home or are you crating just when you can't watch him? If you want to crate train you'll need to leave him on a schedule with he crate, even when you want to hold him.

Another suggestion would be to get a play pen or an xpen. That way, he has his own area and is not confined.
