I'd just stick with what the vet is giving you this time, if he's giving him an anti-diarrhea medication, you don't need the pumpkin and it could be over-kill and give him the opposite problem
. Save the pumpkin idea for if it happens again down the road. I always give my dogs about 2 days of the pumpkin with rice and boiled chicken and see if it clears up before I'll call the vet, it's usually no biggie.
