Usually its something they ate, new treats, bullysticks, someone sneaking him people food or even the food he is eating that may not agree with his stomach. Since he is a puppy make sure its not something around the house that he is getting into.
If you can get to the grocery store buy some organic canned pumpkin , not only does it help with the UGLY D's , it will help to settle his tummy.
I would also do the boiled chicken and rice for a few days as it is very gentle on the tummy.
What kind of food is the little guy eating?
What kind of treats do you give?
