We have 4, all love to play fetch, bring it back...initiate fetch too by bringing the toy to whomever they want to play fetch with except one: the 5 month old runs down the hall when a toy is thrown for fetch, grabs it, throws it up in the air (which it lands nearly in the same spot) then runs back to the person playing and barks (which I think is dog-speak for "you fetch it")
She is not getting the concept of the game...but I guess the end result is she still gets her exercise that way. She's smart enough, knows lots of other tricks, just fetch isn't her cup of tea I guess...so maybe yours simply doesn't like playing fetch.
