No unfortunately I dont think I have told everyone the FULL story of how Foxy came to live with me. I lost my beloved Roxie right before Christmas, and swore I wasnt going to get another yorkie, or dog for that matter. And I found myself on Craigslist one day, and the ad said the girl was moving and couldnt take Foxy with her, made her sound just wonderful. I drove all the way to Asheville (5 hours from me), and when I got there , the dog she described was NOT the dog that I was looking at. She looked like death. My husband actually said she looks a dead dog only alive. She was in rotten shape. Underweight, her teeth horrible (a stage 3), and of course was in full blown heat. Well me with my bleeding heart, had to take her , I wasnt going to leave her in that condition. The girl claimed she thought the dog was fixed, blah blah blah. But the dog was in full blown heat. I later did my research and this chick turns out to be gasp...a BYB. found a website with Foxy on it, where she had numerous litters. She later mails me AKC papers, with some other dogs name on it and her supposed medical records. I am her 5th owner, and she hasnt seen a REAL vet since 2007. The vet records were from her original owners in Michigan and I am in NC> I was told she was 4, turns out shes over 5. So even though I got her from this lady I call her my rescue. Some might not agree with me, but I wouldnt sell her back to that lady for 1, 000 dollars. So thats the complete story, I obviously got her from a BYB, but its partly my fault because I didnt do better research and regardless I am glad that she is away from that woman. But now I deal with the consequences of not knowing her complete history, but I guess thats my fault.
