Thanks again everyone for the great advice. I promised an update and here it is. Little Sprite (7 months old) is like a different dog since the antibiotics for the UTI took effect. She's only had about 4 accidents in the past two weeks, and those are really due to the humans not being on the ball here. We are so relieved that the worst is over now and life is much easier for all of us. For others struggling with the same housetraining issue, you might want to doublecheck whether there's an infection also. Sprite had 2 urine tests that were negative (only very low levels of bacteria), but we finally started antibiotics anyway just in case, and in the end a blood test confirmed the infection. I'm thinking that her urine was so diluted from peeing so frequently that the urine testing wasn't very accurate. She's just a precious little thing, and cute as a button.
