I keep all of mine shaved (butts) - I tell 'em "time to get your butt shaved" and they all come running and line up (same for ears). Been doing it since they were pups, so it's their routine. I generally shave 'em once a month or so, more often if needed (but since I shave 'em bare, generally once a month is all that's needed).
I've had friends laugh and say they look like they have 'brazilians' but no yucky poop stuck there! Three of them have long hair so if you trim straight up the middle and under the tail the side hair generally covers it when they walk (except for the times you get over zealous with the clippers, which I eventually learned not to).
