DH isn't for it, and I can see where he is coming from. Some people just don't enjoy/love/think of pets as highly as I do, and would consider it unhealthy or unsanitary. I think there are much less sanitary things to worry about in a public restaurant, but DH's argument is that it is inconsiderate. I would love to get Whitney trained well enough to sneak her into a movie or some place like that undetected! I'm undecided on the restaurant thing though. What do you guys think? |
I think that your dh has a point, it would be inconsiderate if pets aren't allowed or even if not stated clearly that they're not allowed, and others are not bringing their furkids there
I remember when Homedepot allowed pets until one day we went there and we were told it wasn't allowed anymore

It was terrible on us because we barely leave our furkids home alone. But talking to the manager, we learned that some people did not clean up after their dogs, some were large breeds, aggressive and/or loud. I picture myself shopping and having to worry about stepping on #1 or #2 or the loudness, etc.
HB was upset and told the manager that not being able to shop with our pooches would put a big damper on our willingness to spend our money there. But, I got it

Not everyone takes care to make it pleasant for the rest of us too, so we all pay.
I love Long Horn and I used to eat there at least twice a week (now only 1-2 a month because my pooches aren't welcomed) I wouldn't have minded small pups at the next table, but a huge St-Bernard, Bulldog, etc., drooling/slobbering...I don't think I would have enjoyed my Filet Mignon.
So I figured it MUST be fair across the board. If my little ones were welcomed, so must ALL other pets be welcomed (even lizards ??). I make sure my babies are clean and not wondering all over the place. In short, I want it to be a nice experience for everyone, but my opinion of making it pleasant for everybody may differ from everybody else's opinion.
So, we eat out and patronage places where it is clearly stated that my babies are welcomed and everybody's happy
I can't wait to go to Europe where I hear it's very animal friendly everywhere
