The blood results are back. I just spoke with the doctor and I did ask about HGE. All of Maddox's results looked excellent. His hemocrit levels were right where they should be, no indication of HGE or pancreatitis, liver function looks good, kidneys are ok.....she found nothing at all in his blood work to indicate a problem. He is not dehydrated at all, and upon exam his stomach was not tender or painful and no objects/obstructions were felt. He's had no further bleeding or BM's since his arrival this morning.

The plan for now is an injection to help with his appetite and diarrhea, and two meds sent home with him tonight- one a probiotic and the other to firm up his stool. We discussed doing a barium series on him, but she felt that it wasn't called for just yet. I'm going to see how he does tonight and then we can do the barium xrays tomorrow morning if things aren't any better.

Is this a sound treatment plan? Should I go ahead and have the barium series done today? I want to do whatever needs to be done for Maddox, so any advice would be appreciated.
