I do agree on this point, 100%.
Even if dogs could sit at the table at a restaurant, I would likely take them very little. There have been a handful of occasions where it would have been useful (and obviously the one time where I did it)- mostly when I am on a long car trip and can't find an appropriate place to eat and keep an eye on the dog.
And as far as kids go- yes there are times where kids will misbehave but it is the parents responsibility to remove them from the restaurant immediately. People go out to enjoy a meal and a screaming kid at the next table is a huge nuisance- I hate when parents sit there and act like its not happening- get up and remove said child until they learn to behave better.
