Gracie has slept with me from the first night. I put her carrier on my bed to try to sooth her the first night. I ended up caving in and letting her sleep on a blanket next to me. During the night she got up and went in the carrier and went pee, then came back out and went to sleep next to me again. From then on I put her framed pee pad at the bottom of the bed and she used it when necessary during the night. She is old enough now not to need her potty on the bed anymore. She has her own doggy steps that she climbs up on the bed with. They certainly save me a lot of leaning over to put her up and down. She loves to get under the blanket when she is feels cold. I know this is all contrary to how most dog trainers would tell you to train your dog, but it has worked well for us and I enjoy having her close to me. |
