It was the fear of HGE that was one of the reasons I took her to the vet. She had no more diarrhea or vomiting after she was admitted. She has been on IV fluids, IV antibiotics and other meds all night and is doing okay. She was quite dehydrated. With the exception of dehydration her labs were all okay, as were her x-rays. They will start her on clear fluids shortly and then will try a soft diet. Once she is eating something and not having diarrhea or vomiting she can come home, hopefully this evening. Even though I am an RN, it was still so scary seeing all of that blood! If it happens again I hope it does so during my own vet's business hours. The emergency vet is crazy expensive. But I can't put a price tag on my Holly. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. It means a lot.
