I noticed that you say they will mat when growing back in. Wouldn't keeping the hair well brushed and combed help with the matting when growing back? I just read Kalina82's post and had no idea it might not grow back properly is shaved. I was going to suggest the lion cut but not if it will forever ruin the coat.
