Lots of dogs with liver issues use lactulose, along with a low-protein diet.

Please know - that liver shunt or other liver issues does NOT mean a death sentence.

There are lots of yorkies on here with liver problems ranging from mild to severe. Some required surgery; some are able to be managed with low protein diet; lactulose, etc.

So please hang in there and don't give up.
