Hi there,

So im new to this website and very new to the whole "pad" concept. The last puppy I had was 20 years ago and I trained her to go outside. Unfortunately, a few years back she passed away and last night I finally got a new lil boy yorkie and I have never done the pad training so I have what may seem like a dumb question but Im going to ask it anyway, obviously when you take the dog outside you wait for them to go potty but when you pad train how do you get them to stay on the pad to go? I bought the puppy apartment because it looks like a promising thing but I know you cant keep a dog crated all the time and Im not quite sure if I should feed him/play with him and then put him in the crate and wait for him to go or if theres a better way. the puppy apartment says it can be used as the only or an alternative potty place so I figured since my doggie is going to be tiny and i dont want him to have to go outside when its wet or raining or just plain yucky I can use it for the most part....please help!!
