LOL, I use the same threat with Max.
I don't like other people picking up my dogs. It is unnecessary and it is a big risk. Some of the behavioral problems I have with Teddy stem from people rushing up to him and wanting to scoop him up. I can't say I blame him for being fearful.
A lot of people don't know how to hold a dog (or a baby). They hold the front end and fail to support the butt. After seeing that a couple times, I stopped letting people pick up Max.
