My 14 year old toy poodle started doing the "I can't get up on couch or bed anymore" routine about 6 years ago. So natually being my baby I just picked him or or put him down. My husband was right, he was just tricking me into a free ride. He's always been healthy and doesn't have any problems with his jump. Hopefully that's what your baby is doing and that nothing is wrong. They just get so spoiled and want you to do more and more for them. He's been having to jump to safety now that we have Cupcake (yorkie puppy). She thinks his pom pom tail is a toy
