We had a long discussion about Biewers recently

The YTCA considers their off coloring a fault.
Some breeders consider them a different breed.
Some consider them Yorkies.
We all consider them cute but not quite worthy of that kind of price tag.

Rare? Well, part of that reason is Yorkie breeders that are trying to meet the standard would not breed a dog that color. A Yorkie breeder in Germany (Biewer) decided to run with the off color and create a new "breed" . I am still a little confused how you take 2 Yorkies and get another breed? Still waiting for an answer on that one.

Anyone know if other breeds were "created" this way?
