umm, So what is the actual name of the surgical procedure she is going to need? Is it a TECA (total ear canal ablation)? If so, then no the dog isn't going to be able to hear after surgery. She may seem like it but in reality she isn't going to be hearing any better then what she's able to hear now. TECA's are not done together on the same day because of the pain and difficulty. Usually they are done 1-2 days apart with the dog staying in hospital until a day after both ears are complete. They are in a lot of pain, and there is a lot of drainage coming from the surgery for a few days afterward.
