I never make a big deal out of leaving, I've read that too. I put her in her area just before I put my shoes on, and I just leave! She is NOT ok with being left alone. I've only had her for a few weeks, so I'm hoping she learns to cope with it, but so far it hasn't gotten better. My neighbor told me yesterday that when I was at class wednesday night she cried off and on the whole time. They could hear her from their garage! He felt so bad for her and asked me to leave him a key so he could go in and get her when she does that next time. Poor thing. I had faith that she stopped crying after we left but apparently that isn't the case!
