As far as what will she do if her child has issues, well a child is not a dog and in an 'either/or' situation it's the dog that has to go. It may very well be a very difficult and heartbreaking situation for her but she made what she thought was a selfless decision in the best interest of the dog and her family.
All that being said, I could not abandon any of my dogs - issues or not - all of our past dogs died of old age with us but that doesn't mean everyone else has that same determination or ability. |
Commended? Hummmm, I don't know if commended, but I would give her understanding, at least she brought her to the shelter to give the fur baby a chance without further delay.
"A child is not a dog"? In my eyes, there's no difference. I think people who see dogs as 'just dogs' would see things the way you do, "'either/or' situation it's the dog that has to go." SAD!!
