The YTCA recommends that a puppy stay with the mother until it's 12 weeks old. When you bring it home, you need to keep it on the breeder's food for at least a week, so that you can see if any tummy upsets are caused by food changes or something more serious. I gave Joey plain unsweetened Cheerios as a potty training and grooming treat, they didn't cause any problems and most dogs love them.
we use cheerios at my house too. best treat and cheapest too.
