I'm 20yrs old, got Jackson at 18, and never did I think I could allow him around an unspayed female in heat, or ever. He was neutered like a responsible pet owner does at an appropriate age. Then again, I'm in the rarity for people my age with pets... or people my age in general. I think most of the time young people with pets is not a good idea. I will never understand why it's so hard to get through peoples head how important spay/neuter is. And if you have reasons why you don't want to, you have to be 10000% responsible to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen. This doesn't even sound like any kind of precaution was taken, to be honest.... But I also realize everyone makes mistakes and I am just concerned for the baby. But I wanted to point out that this is why whenever we see threads where people say "Oh no, my dog will NEVER be around another unaltered dog- it just WON'T happen!!!"... and then it typically does. This is why the average pet owners should always S/N.
