The noise of an electric shaver can be stressful to a puppy. In the beginning I found a safety razor to be less annoying to Sophie. I went slowly, holding her securely while giving her a treat. Sometimes my husband would help by talking to her and giving the treat. Sophie's groomer shaves them when she goes for her grooming about once a month. In between, when I bath her, I use a small electric, now that she's a little older and more trusting. Still they are perky at the base and a little tippy on the points but I love her cute little look!
