When I adopted her, I also got her AKC papers that listed the name of the kennel where she came from and her parents. I "googled" the information and found their website quite easily. On their website, the have a listing of their "breeders"; all 29 of them. From my understanding, puppy mills frequently have auctions. I am still confused as to why they gave up Lily since 2 of her litter mates were still listed on their site when I first did my search. I emailed them to see what they had to say. I asked about her history and under what circumstances she was given up. Here is their response: Hi Lesley
I just wanted to let you know she came from a really good home. She has had all her shots and worming and I guarantee you allot more shots and worming more than most pups get. She has been loved and cared for and it should show in her. Our kennels are what people call a top of the line kennel. We have 4 buildings all with air/heat, inside and going to outside runs, automatic wash downs and automatic waterers and we feed Iams puppy and Eukanuba puppy feed and Bil Jac feed which is a really good feed. We have a playful in the nursery kennel where the pups get to play in everyday and our kennels are cleaner than most peoples home, but my husband and I are retired and these are our babies, but just getting a little age on us where we just have to slow down a little. But thanks so much for letting me know.

Keep in mind, I don't want to start any trouble, but I truly feel that this is a puppy mill and the circumstances from which I adopted my Lily are shady...on both ends. I'm not convinced the story that the rescue group gave me either. They told me it was a puppy bust which is what prompted me to do a search. I wanted to see if this place was still in business. Again, I just want this information available to anyone who may do a search about this kennel. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. |
Hi Leslie,
I honestly do not believe Beaufords is or was ever involved in any puppy mill. I too live in Florida. Three years ago I did some intense web searching for a yorkie and came across Beaufords website. I was given reference names of others who bought yorkies from them and all had only good things to say. I made the decision to purchase my baby. As anxious as I was to get her, they would not ship her to me until she reached a certain weight as they were concerned about her health and safety. When I finally received my baby, she was exactly as promised. I had her vet checked within a few days and was told she was very healthy, well cared for and surely came from a great breeder. I have recommended Beaufords to friends. A year after I got mine, a friend from here in FL, bought her yorkie from Beaufords...in fact, they have the same daddy. I would buy another yorkie from this breeder in a heart beat! Dawn from Winter Haven, FL. |
