I don't know if we could offer a new home or not. My husband and I just took in a 2 year-old Yorkie Poo that had been passed from home to home, so I understand the concern about fostering. Still, it sounds as though there are fosters and rescues who do think carefully about placement in order to avoid the upset of multiple moves.
We are very happy with our new Sugar Bear, and she is very happy and even tempered. Also amazingly well behaved, but we are still learning how to accommodate the needs of such a small dog. Also learning that caring for a small breed is VERY expensive. Bed, vet, quality food, toys, safe and comfortable harness, dog gate, possible xpen, need to build a fence so she can play unleashed safely (supervised, of course). Quite a schedule change to fit in 2 long and 2 short walks per day, play time, consistent meals and training, etc., etc. Making my office 'pet-friendly' for times when she would be home alone for longer than we want to leave her. On and on, they need a lot!

We aren't in Dallas often, but will be there Tues April 11 (6pm), and probably Saturday April 16th, and possibly the afternoon of April 20th. Perhaps we could help with a few long walk/play sessions each time and a trip to the groomer on the 16th. I CAN say that we are in the area from time to time and would love to help in these small ways.

Would love to offer to 'foster' for awhile and later adopt if OP is not able to bring him back home, but will first have to seriously consider our readiness to add a second pooch to our family. Ideal would be a good temporary home until OP can reevaluate ~ with the provision that the temp home would become permanent if necessary. If we can be that, will post here again ~ just not able to do that yet, and I know you need that kind of assurance. So, so very sorry for your loss. Prayers will be with you.
