And I completely agree that she should NOT be breeding either, but she is! She has 2 males that will be 6 weeks on Monday. Through all of my talking about how important it is to keep them until they are 12 weeks, she is still going to let them go. The father of this female is hers as well. I know this is risky. I know that I'm getting involved in a huge mess. I have whelped pups before. Not yorkies, but pugs who also have a tendency to have trouble in labor. I always helped her (3 litters) by removing the sacs, tying and cutting the cords, suctioning the pups, etc. No, I am NO expert, but I still feel like I am capable. She does not even have a steady vet, just goes wherever it is convienant at the time. She needs to grow AlOT! I have spoken to another lady in my area who used to breed small dogs. She has agreed to come for the whelping.I know many of you are frowning a this, and I were reading this I would to. I am again confused as to what is the right thing to do is.
Just a note: I do love to give Mac updates. He is doing extremely well. He and his mother have been here since he was a few days old. He is running and playing and consistently using potty pads. I am so proud of him and love him dearly. I am considering taking his momma myself to be spayed if her owner will accept my offer. She is a carrier of blues, and even though her owner said she would spay her, I just want to make sure it will be done.
