clavamox and hycodan seem to be the drugs of choice for the hacking of kennel cough.
I noticed that same pattern when my liitle baby had kennel cough.Seemed much better and on the mend in the evening and then by morning back to square one. Took almost 3 months to go away with several courses of antibiotics and trips to 3 different vets for opinions because we were so nervous about it.
She is fine now, so be patient....and try to relax
