Well said!
I owned a tiny -- so I can speak from first hand experience. My Katie Lyn (who sadly passed away) was only 2.6 lbs full grown. Believe me when I say that breeding her would have been ANIMAL CRUELTY. I had her spayed because I love her and wanted her to live a long and healthy life. Sadly her life is over but at least I have some comfort in the fact that I always put her health and happiness over my own selfish needs.
My husband and dad bought me a new dog -- my little Tia -- and she is going to be another tiny girl like my Katie was. And what do you think I'm going to do? As soon as she's old enough, I'm going to take her to the vet to be safely spayed! Why? Because I firmly believe it would be INHUMANE on my part to ever breed her or even risk her accidentally becoming pregnant. Yes, inhumane is the word I use. Inhumane to force a tiny girl to breed when I know in my gut and in my heart that it is wrong. Inhumane to force a tiny girl to have multiple c-sections over and over again because you're simply a money hungry pig who only sees dollar signs when you look at your dog.
I am not directing my post at anyone in particular. This is just how I personally feel regarding the breeding of tinies. Thanks for listening to me vent.
PS - I just wanted to add that my 2 tiny Yorkies both came from standard sized parents. They were NOT intentionally bred to be super tiny and they were NOT bred from little itty bitty females.
