He's probably in the clear though, since he's so close to the 1yr mark and already such a 'big boy'. He probably doesn't have much growing left to do!
It's *mainly* for larger breed dogs where it's more important. You can start agility foundations very early on though.. like 1" or 2" jumps, etc.
