I'm in Phoenix, which gets a little hotter than Tucson - and you know that's HOT. We don't let the kiddo's paws touch the concrete or pavement during the summer/hot hours - they can burn their paws. We do very minimal dog-walks during summer....if anything, just late evening.
If I have to go to the vet in summer, I'll usually start the car and blast the AC for a while so it cools down before bringing the doggie in the car. You know how long it takes to cool down a car here

Like Nancy said, the first summer is the worst! And then after that, you're freezing when it gets below 70. So true.
