I knew she wanted to do the MRI but she was almost it seemed giving up on him. I am a believer in Christ and I know Miracles can happen with prayer. We went to a Holistic vet on wensday because I have heard really good things about the Holistic vet. Well it was very interesting going there but they told me Polo is allergic to chicken and herring fish, which is in Orijen and Acana what he eats. And also for a month or so he has been eating chicken they said no More Chicken or Orijen or Acana
so they told me to try Ziwi peak Lamb it was $25 for a 2.2lb bag but he really likes it. Anyways they gave him a ton of natural medicine and he has been doing really. Well yesterday I went to get the Mail and left him in his bed on top of the bed upstairs well I came back and he was on the floor walking around still kind of unbalanced. But he had to have jumped off of the bed I was amazed almost in tears. He has been getting better everyday it seems. Today the doorbell rang and he was in his kennel well he got out of his kennel and growled once and went to the door fell over a couple of times but he seems very aware of what is going on around him. Also not very long ago today I took him outside to go potty with out a leash, he walked from my backyard all the way to the neighbors front yard with out falling. When he got there he was tired you could tell he just laid in the front yard but wow again I was amazed. Is he 100% better no he still falls and sometimes will start rolling and can't stop himself but too see this improvement in a couple of days is really amazing |
Poly did you join the GME group? I ask this because there is a lot of information and help for you there.
It is possible that your neurologoist's reaction was predicated upon the fact, that without a correct and best informed diagnosis, the prognosis/outcome for your pup is not good, and may even include death.
I believe that someone here mentioned Care Credit, how is that coming along?
In terms of short term improvement, there is simply no reason at this point to assume it is due to the holistic herbs, and change of diet. Being back at home most pups will perk up for a bit.
If you have not investigated the GME group and or Care Credit, I urge you to do so.
Those neuro signs are very worrisome, and it is best to get the most informed diagnosis, so that the treatment plans can proceed ahead with the best chance of success.
In the meantime you will need to be extra cautious in safeguarding your pup from falls, Close off stairs, no beds or couches off the floor unless you are with him. In fact an Xpen would be a good idea, if you can't monitor him 24/7
