Oh, Patti, I'm sorry you, too, had to go through a similar event with your mom. It's heart wrenching. I'm sure coumadin has served a purpose for some people, but the doctors sure need to keep and eye on those taking it and be diligent about bloodwork while on it. The neurologist told us that night in the ER that only 1% of people live that have had this type of stroke. I don't ever want to be in this 1%. I, personally, will never take coumadin.
