Oh, totally a set up for old folks! No alarm or storm door prevents that type of entry scam on poor old people. My mother had a similar incident attempted with her years back and it was practically all I could do to get her to open the door up even to me after that when I came to visit. It really scared her, it was pre-cell phone and though I would call to tell her I was on the way, once I got there, I really had to yell and yell to convince her it was I standing outside until she finally got a peephole installed! Ohhhhh, I forgot they were too old to care for a dog. Speaking of which, I am glad that Basil is doing well.
