I would look into an x-pen. That would allow him to move around more and Taycie loves hers! I got mine at petsmart.

I put her bed in it, you could put his crate in it too.. and she has her water and toys...

Taycie can also get yippy, I live in a basement apartment right now and when she can hear them upstairs she makes more noise.. I would also try leaving a T.V. on in your room or some soft music. It really helps relax her and it muffles the sound from upstairs so she can relax more.

They used to tell me they could hear her and they ask me often, is Taycie downstairs?.. They never hear her anymore.

I did read a thread recently about Stress Relieving Pheromones that is supposed to help them when they get stressed. She had wonderful results and with time this might help you too
