Thank you friends for following up. Ian went to the vet today with his daddy, and it was not because of the Benadryl. Ian apparently has a stomach virus, and was given metronidazole (250 mg) to help with that. He was given one tablet and has to take 1/4 per day.
The vet also told us to change his dog kibble from Wellnes to Iams. Tonight and tomorrow he is supposed to have a few kibbles of Wellnes with 1/4 of boiled rice; then I have to start weaning him off of Wellness. I spoke with her (Ian's regular vet was out today) about my concerns about Iams, but she felt that it would be good for Ian. As usual, I plan to do my research here on yt...and the net.

(Prince was 5.7 pounds when he was prescribed 1/2 teaspoon of benadryl; Ian is 9.3ish pounds, so I knew that it wasn't too much for him.)
