I would like to welcome the OP to YT! I also would like to say I wish you the best in your search, be very careful and do you homework first. It is important to trust your breeder since you will be purchasing a puppy for life as well as the breeder. As far as your question about a male or female I would say I would have to speak with you first to make that decision, since I always try to place the right puppy to the right home. I see your located in Merced and I am in Los Banos so if you would like to talk I am just a short call away from you.
