i had princess spayed while she was in heat a short time ago. she had it done at the humane society, they didn't charge extra & everything went great. the only extra precaution they told me to take was to keep her away from all males for 2 full weeks afterwards. obviously she can't get pregnant, but i guess she's still "attractive" to males. i was worried about not having it done, as my dog is frequently exposed to my sisters unaltered dog, so i outweighed the pros & cons. the clinic and my personal vet both told me it was fine to go ahead with it.
