No -- they won't do that. I asked the last time I was trying to fly Annie. I got a special deal flight of $250 for me. She was going to cost $125 each way AND count as my carry on so I would have had to pay $50 to check my bag. I said, can I just buy another seat and have her sit next to me -- they said no -- NO pets are allowed in seats. I called the only other airlines flying where I needed to go and got the same answer.

Very frustrating when the flight I took before this one a lady (very large herself) had a child supposedly 2 yrs old in her lap. The kid had to be 4 if she was a day! She squirmed, kicked, and was causing all sorts of noise. The mom had also taken BOTH under seat storage spaces so I had to use the overhead area for my bag. Luckily the flight wound up underbooked and the flight attendent asked if I would like to change to another seat before we actually took off (which gave the BIG 2 yr old her own seat). I could hear her back there the whole flight and kept thinking, my sweet Annie can't sit in a seat if I pay for it but this kid gets to throw a fit and win her own seat! Ah well -- I usually love kids! Just not misbehaving ones whose mom is cheating the airlines and taking away from my peace and comfort.
