Did he have parasite in his system causing the upset? If yes, that really can take a while for them to stabilize. Although, if the poo is actually runny...that's more of a concern bc of dehydration, and it's really stresses their systems.
Is there blood in the stool? Is it mucousy? |
No blood, no mucus. We had that on Monday, hence the vet trip. There was no parasite causing the problem. I give him fish as a supplement to his food, and either I had a bad can, or I gave him too much, which caused problems. The vet said he probably had a protein overload. So he gave him something to settle his tummy (meds) and told me bland diet for a while. He's been good the last few days, and his stool has been loose but he's also been eating watery rice. (he only eats the rice if its nice and warm and watery) plus the watery rice has been helping prevent dehydration. I just found it odd that his stool got so watery after the last one (this morning) was starting to look normal again, cause he started eating kibble.
So if I get canned pumpkin how much do I give and is there a certain type I should buy? Does it get refridgerated after I open it? and how often should I give him some.
Thanks
