I was using a boars hair brush too! Princess Monster killed it last month I need a new one now, it was designed for use by people but really did work great on smoothing the coat-but I had the same issue it didn't penetrate deep enough and it fluffed the hair too much so Elvis and Princess would go curly at the first sign or humidity or wetness and really I needed to brush twice a day for it to be effective-who has time for that?

I was also using the Pet Head brushes (by Bed Head-found 'em at my salon as a promo) they were okay for doing the job but the quality was not so great and they were actually more expensive than the Madan brushes!
I used all the Pet Head shampoos etc too-not so great at all and expensive or well overpriced IMO.
