Thanks for posting, I think I recognize one of the breeders I visited in my search. It was close to Cullman and the lady showed me 3 yorkies, asking 500-950. per female pup and would not let me see either of the parents. The pups were beautiful, however I was suspicious when she attempted to show me pictures of some of the other parents that she had..
As I made up a story as to the reason I would drive 2-3 hours back home to think on it I noticed she had 50+ outside cages of dogs of all breeds..it was a scary sight.
I do wonder, if they are licensed by usda does it necessarily mean they are mills? Why would a breeder get licensed by usda other than to see to pet stores, etc? If these are AKC pups, why does AKC allow these mills to operate? Am I asking questions that run too deeply? Is it just all about money?
