So it is not really a Yorkie he has reservations about but another dog period. I hope that once I get Angel trained up he will be more willing. I REALLY think a Yorkie would be a good companion for Angel. |
Oh, I hope one day you will be blessed to own a Yorkie if that is what you decide, as they are a wonderful breed. Still, I really do understand it is a decision one must think about long and hard. I know how expensive they can be to care for with their dentals under anesthesia, propensity for LP, CT, etc. It seems they are subject to their share of mishaps due to their size and temperament. Despite their tiny size, they can be absolutely fearless when it comes to perceived territorial threats; and at least in Tibbe's case, have poor judgment as to whether or not they are subject to the laws of gravity! I have to watch him like a hawk due his habit of "living on the edge". He is full of the love of life, a desire to be involved in everything everywhere and rarely thinks before he acts when on a sudden mission!!! Despite my best attempts to train him otherwise so far, he can absolutely fly over his doggie steps and bound off the couch onto the floor or run just along the very edge of the bed trying to get to his bedroom doggie steps in reaction to a noise he needs to check out. He is just so fast and wreckless as to be up and gone before I even hear or see anything! That reaction is why he fiercely races after any cat, squirrel, large black bird, etc., in his yard. He is 110% terrier. He would probably do equally well in Cirque du Soleil and earth dog trials! These are things to think about before bringing a Yorkie home, as I think many of them are like Tibbe in these ways.
