This is something that definitely needs the attention of an ortho surgeon. General vets can tell you when something is wrong, but they aren't always clear when it is surgical and when it isn't (all they need to know is how to support the pup until getting it to a surgeon if needed). Growth plates in a young dog pose a pretty big problem.
It isn't something that really can wait a week or two if your vet things your pup needs to be seen by the surgeon. It does need to happen asap (tomorrow preferably).
