I used this tip on an electrical cord we couldn't cover or hide and not on wooden furniture though, so that might make a difference. I don't know if it will hurt your furniture.
I learned this tip from another YTer. Try rubbing clear deodorant on the areas that are most "attractive". You have to keep applying it every day because it will go away, but Gizmo just tried it a couple of times and that's all it took. He went back about a week later and I watched him try again, and his reaction was priceless! lol

Also, we discovered that a frozen washcloth really helped with the teething. That and simple ice cubes. I put them in his water bowl and he would fish them out and play hockey with them on the kitchen floor. It was fun to watch!
