It is not a death sentence for all CT dogs and for many can be medically managed with diet, weight loss and medications. Surgery from what I've been told is reserved for the most severe of canidates and even then...it is not a promising outcome in the survival rates.
Bella is nearly symptom free due to diet, weight loss and medications. She now is not on any medications and when I do start to hear some honking...we step up more walks, and watch her portion control. |
there is a new procedure in which a stint is put in the trachae and most universities are well researched on the latest. You might want to consider calling one in your area. I give my little old man who is 17 .4 ml of benedryl for up to 4 days in a row when he is have attacks. My vet said it sometimes help and it does. There are many other meds listed on the website the others gave you so keeping up on research may help you if this is progressive. It was progressive for my little guy. Good Luck and I will keep both of you in my prayers.
