Oh, if Tibbe somehow got killed by another animal of any kind because he was in that pet's yard, I would feel totally distraut and could never get over it, feel totally guilty and fully responsible! I could not hold any large or small animal responsible for its protective or prey instincts in protecting its own home. As a pet owner, I have no expectation my pet has any rights should it venture into dangerous territory. If my Tibbe ran out in the street and got hit by a car or were attacked by another animal anywhere off our own property, it would be my sole responsibility for not managing to keep him home and safe. That is why I work hard to try to get pet owners to keep their own pets at home and out of danger as it is so sad to see a pet die needlessly. |
