The only thing that I see that might happen is that breeders here will start adding blue and golds to the line, I know that some still do in Germany, but I think if you do your homework in your ancestries, you can obtain lines that are far enough apart not to have to do this. They have been bred for long enough now to be able to do that. I know that this is what good breeders strive for, and God willing, in the near future we will have enough different lines over here to start a very diverse gene pool so in a few years we will have a true, color intense, Biewer that we all could be proud of. Biewers are lovely dogs and I think that they should be given a true chance to prove themselves and not be lost in bad breeding.

I'm wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!...[/QUOTE]

Theresa! Nicely put. That's why I don't feel breeding b/g in the lines is neccesary not beneficial for the True Biewers. The Clydsdale Terrier is now extinct but they were part of the making of Yorkshire Terriers. If they weren't and we did breed them back with a Yorkshire Terrier it would be a mix. I know some lines are still potent and need to be standardized by adding b/g and that's fine, that's the breed still in the making. I think that needs to be left up to the German breeders that know ALL the lines and have been fine tuning this breed.
